Kiss Work Experience Summer 2014

If you’ve always dreamed of working for KISS mag, we’ve got some good news for you. You can now apply for one week’s work experience at KISS from 5th May 2014 to 29th August 2014. Demand for places at KISS is always high, with way more applications than we’ve got places, which is why we’ve made the application process a little more challenging. Here are the deets…

To apply, send a cover letter along with your name, age, address and phone number, outlining why you love KISS, why you want to work for the magazine and why you think you’d be an awesome KISS intern. Then we want you to send us your top four ideas for if you were to design a page for KISS mag similar to ‘The Intern Edit‘ which appears in the magazine. This page is researched, written and designed by the KISS work experience students. You can cover any topics you like – fashion, beauty, gadgets, recipes, cool new bands, hot new shows, whatever you would like to see in KISS! It’s totally up to you. Talk us through each of your ideas, explaining why you chose them, and why it needs to be on our radar. This is your chance to shine and really impress.

You can email your cover letter and ideas to info@kiss.ie with ‘work experience summer 2014′ in the subject line or you can mail them to Roisin Healy, KISS magazine, 3 Ely Place, Dublin 2. All applicants must be 15 years of age or over and in either transition year or fifth year for the academic year 2014/2015.

EXCLUSIVE! Check out Christina Perri’s new album before anyone else!

Christina Perri

If like us you’ve been listening to Christina Perri’s latest song Human on repeat, you’re going to fall head over heels for her new album, Head or Heart.

We couldn’t wait for it to be released on Friday, 28th March, so we’re streaming it live on www.kiss.ie all this week, so Kiss readers can be the first to hear the entire album. How nice are we?

Head or Heart is Christina’s second album and it’s all about answering the question, which should she trust in love, her head or her heart?

“I’m not pretending I’ve figured it out. I’m bringing everyone along for the journey of my heart and my head and these songs are what happened, but I don’t know the way to trust both,” she says.

And while she may not have found her answer yet, this album has blown us away with it’s inspiring lyrics and haunting melodies.

Pre order signed for a signed album here, or pre order on iTunes here.

Have a listen and let us know what you think!

Be inspired: Check out the Joanne O’Riordan documentary!

Joanne O’Riordan is one of the most inspirational and fun teens we’ve ever come across and the documentary, No Limbs No Limits, is all about her amazing life story.

17 year old Joanne was born with a condition called Total Amelia, which means she has no limbs. She is just one of seven people like this in the world.

But feisty Joanne not only leads a totally normal life, going to school, doing her own makeup and using her iPad, she’s also become an impressive campaigner for the rights of those with disabilities.

Her brother Steven has created the documentary telling her story, including her address to the United Nations.

In cinemas on April 11th, this is a must-see.

Exclusive: Hear Lea Michele’s album Louder before anyone else!

We’re so excited about March cover girl Lea Michele’s new album Louder, and even better yet, we’ve got our hands on it for you to have a sneaky listen before it drops on March 14th!

Yes Kiss readers, you get to hear Lea’s amazers album before anyone else! Cool or wha’?!

The Glee star’s solo debut includes her hit track Cannonball, as well as the powerful ballad Battlefield. Our fave tracks so far? The title track Louder is a belter, as is the pop/rock song On My Way, while Burn With You is a really unique and edgy pop tune. But have a listen for yourself and let us know what you think!

This album proves that despite the tough year she has had, Lea is bouncing back like a pro and is destined to be a star in her own right.

“Louder really encompasses my experiences over this past year and my journey as an artist up to this point,” Lea told us.

“There’s a lot of emotion but it’s also very encouraging and hopeful – it’s about pushing forward and living your life in a way that’s louder, stronger and bolder. I’m so excited to share this new side of me with my fans.”

The album is out on March 14th and is available to pre-order here: https://itunes.apple.com/ie/album/louder-deluxe-version/id768718326.

Have a listen right now and let us know what you think!
