We heart this – ‘heart’ enters Oxford Dictionary
We’ve been saying it for ages, but the folks at the Oxford English Dictionary have finally cottoned on and are including the heart symbol in their entries for the first time ever. Writes, The Journal.ie:
The ‘heart’ symbol- which originally gained popularity in the 1980s as part of the famous I ‘heart’ New York tourism campaign- is listed in the dictionary as symbolising the verb ‘to love’.
The latest version of the dictionary contains 45,437 new words and phrases, including OMG, LOL, and FYI.
Totes and obvs and Bieber Fever can’t be all that far away so, right?
