When all of our days are spent at home, it gets very Groundhog Day-like, so sometimes it can be hard to look forward to the weekend like we usually would. But it’s always good to have something to look forward to, especially when it’s only days away. So we put together a list of six things you can do this weekend that will give you something to look forward to. Of course, you can do them any day – but part of the fun is in the excitement, right?
Having a guilt-free lie-in
There’s something about sleeping in on weekdays that just feels a bit weird. Of course, it was great at first but now it’s all looking a bit same-sy. So having a lazy morning lying in bed at the weekends is ALWAYS welcome. We’re already counting down the days to that guilt-free lie-in!
How our Saturday nights have changed, eh? But right now, there are few things we look forward to more than chilling out on a Saturday night with some popcorn (throw some Minstrels in there too, trust us!) and seeing what Britain’s Got Talent has in store for us. From jaw-dropping magicians to amazing choirs, there’s literally something for everyone. It has everything we need for a bit of entertainment!
If you’ve been rewatching the 2018 Love Island episodes that are on each night, you’ll know that they already brighten up weekends. With something to look at each night at 9pm, it gives us one complete hour to switch off from the world and that’s exactly what we all need right now.
Having a family BBQ
Granted, some members of your family may be still working during the week, whether that be at home or they’re back to work. Even when you live together, there’s something about planning a meal or a small event that just hits different! So, doing something at the weekend where the family can get together will always be appreciated. Whether that’s an outdoor BBQ (let’s keep our fingers crossed for nice weather), a stunning roast dinner, or even an at-home Bake Off – have family members make their own dessert and let the judging commence!
Being able to meet our friends
Of course, that’s outside and from a distance, but still! Now that we’re in phase one of attempting to return to normality, we’re now allowed to meet up with our friends to catch up on everything, and finally, see their faces IRL. Amazing.
Being one day closer
It’s not exactly something to do, but it’s definitely something to get excited about. With each day that passes, we’re all one day closer to going back to normality. No matter how long it takes, we’re always going to be one day closer than the day before!
