With February just around the corner and the January blues hitting hard, you might have forgotten about… Valentine’s day. Guys and gals Valentine’s day doesn’t have to be your typical candlelit dinner or a walk on the beach, trust us it can be a whole lot of fun! We’ve rounded up a list of fun, cheap and unique Valentines day ideas that can make the day a lot more special.
Escape rooms are basically puzzle and riddle-solving using clues, hints and strategy, and are perfect for Valentine’s day (if you can deal with being stuck in a room for 60 minutes!) Suitable for big groups, this is a great one for a double date.
Plus in Open The Door Escape Rooms, Galway, it is cheaper to book for a larger amount of people. The prices in Galway are between 17-22 euro per person. Similarly Escape Rooms Ennis prices start at 15 euro. And don’t worry guys, Escape Rooms are based all over Ireland such as No Escape, Cork, 5 Quests, Dublin (which can accommodate up to 21 people for a game), Escape Killarney, Kerry, and Escape Limerick.
For the excitable, energetic type, a trampoline centre would so suit your Valentines day! Again, this activity is perfect for big groups or a cosy couple, whatever takes your fancy. With walled trampoline courts, foam pits, trampoline dodgeball courts, and basketball lanes, there really is something for everyone! For the largest indoor trampoline centre in Europe, Jump Zone, Dublin, is the place to be.

Are you bored of long silence when you and your bae have a Netflix night? And, for those in new relationships, we know it can be kinda awkward starting out. What better way to feel comfortable with your boo than a little healthy competition? So, crack out the UNO and have a fun night in!
Drive-in cinema experience
Leopardstown Racecourse, Dublin are hosting a retro drive-in movie day on 14th, 15th and 16th of February 2020 and their viewing list includes Toy Story 4, A Star is Born, The Greatest Showman and Titanic so you can have your choice of laughter or tears. With stalls for all your popcorn and drinks needs, you can enjoy some great films from the comfort of the car!
Let’s be realistic here… It is February and it is cold, but instead of going to an expensive, crowded restaurant full of PDA, how about a cheap and cheerful picnic in a pretty cool location? There are loads of great spots for a quiet lunch/dinner with your boo. Popularly known as Dublin’s ‘Secret Garden’, the Iveagh Gardens is located by a gorgeous fountain and surrounded by grass for your ideal picnic spot. Emo Court and Parkland, Laois is renowned for its beautiful 20-acre man-made lake. Plus, if it’s a wet day, you can immerse yourself in the surroundings of the tearoom, located on the grounds. The wind might get you down, but the scenery won’t! The Burren, Clare is filled with colour and lies on rocky land.
There are also places like the glacial valleys of Glendalough, Wicklow, Kilfane Glen and Waterfall, Kerry and Ardnakinna Lighthouse, Cork. So, wrap up warm, bring some extra blankets and you will be kitted out for a cute day out with your bae.
Even if one or both of you are not so dainty with a paintbrush, this is a great activity for some laughter. So, grab some canvases and hot chocolate and have a cosy night in. Plus, it will make for a great keepsake!
