We’re already super excited about Riverdale’s next season, which is sure to be full of surprises.
There will be seven-year time jump which means everyone is bound to be in different stages of their lives, with some couples still together and some… not so much.
Of course, in seven years, there are bound to be some new people in the group’s circle too.
This is where Tabitha Tate comes in, who is the granddaughter of Pop Tate, who owned the town’s diner.
She’ll be played by Erinn Westbrook, who you may recognise from Insatiable.

“So, so excited to welcome @erinnwestbrook to the #Riverdale family as Tabitha Tate, but what’s happening with Pop Tate?” Riverdale‘s creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa wrote on Instagram.
Erinn also shared the news on her Instagram writing: “So very excited to finally be able to share this news. Looking forward to a fun ride! See you soon, Riverdale… “
Drew Tanner, who plays Fangs Fogerty is also set to be a series regular on season 5.
This means that although he was in the show before, he’ll be in much more scenes than before and likely have a more developed storyline.
Taking to Instagram he wrote: “Wow. Almost 3 years to the day my journey with Riverdale started. I didn’t know back then that it’d become such a life changing experience for me. The cast and crew has become like family, and supported me every step on this path. Creating such a wonderful space to go into work each day, and to offer guidance when I needed it the most. There are some people from those early days that I’ve also seen grow, and it makes me so damn happy to see what this show has done for so many people. ”
“A big thank you to my team Allan and Mary, and my first agent Kumi who helped me get my foot in the door. Special thanks to Warner Bros and The CW for having me, and to @writerras for giving Fangs and I a home. Lastly, to the fans! It’s true, without you this is all but a pipe dream. I love you!!! xx”
We’re so excited to see season 5 and to see what Tabitha and Fangs bring to the gang.
