May is almost upon us and what a fast month that was! The good news is though that a new month means loads of new content on our favourite streaming services. On Netflix this month, we’re mostly excited about movie faves like School Of Rock, Shark Tale and Spider-Man Far From Home.

Jupiter’s Legacy – May 7 

They’re the first generation of superheroes. But as they pass the torch to their children, tensions are rising — and the old rules no longer apply.

The Upshaws – May 12

A working-class Black family in Indiana strives for a better life and a happy home while juggling everyday struggles in this comedy series.

Special: Season 2 – May 20

You may have been following Special’s first season which follows Ryan, a young gay man with cerebral palsy trying to live an independent life. Now in S2, Ryan is semi-estranged from his mother and continues exploring the world on his own, with all the complex ups and downs life and love have to offer.

Ewan McGregor stars in this limited series that tracks the meteoric rise and fall of the first American celebrity fashion designer. This show is from the creator of Glee, The Politician and American Horror Story, Ryan Murphy, so expect colourful costumes and storylines!

Spider-Man: Far from Home (2019)

Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, Peter Parker (Tom Holland) returns in Spider-Man: Far From Home. Peter decides to join his best friends Ned, MJ, and the rest of the gang on a European vacation. However, Peter’s plan to leave super heroics behind for a few weeks is quickly scrapped when he begrudgingly agrees to help Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) uncover the mystery of several elemental creature attacks. Spider-Man and Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) join forces to fight the havoc unleashed across the continent but all is not as it seems.

Les Misérables (2012)

If you’re a musical fan you’re probably familiar with this one already. Jean Valjean, a prisoner, breaks parole in order to start life anew. He soon becomes the caretaker of a young girl but his past comes back to catch up with him.

Bridesmaids (2011)

Widely regarded as one of the best comedy movies, this hilarious flick follows Annie, a jobless chef, who is asked by her best friend, Lillian, to be her maid of honour. Issues evolve among them and the many other hilarious, chaotic bridesmaids.

Shark Tale (2004)

Shark Tale is perfect family fun, starring big names like Will Smith, Renee Zellweger and Jack Black. Oscar, a fast-talking fish, becomes an overnight sensation when he lies about having killed a shark. However, he soon begins to suffer the consequences of his deceptive actions.

Men in Black: International (2019)

Tessa Thompson and Chris Hemsworth star in this action flick. Agent M, a probationary member of the MIB, teams up with Agent H and uncovers a sinister plot that reveals a traitor in the organisation aiding an alien invasion.

School of Rock (2003)

One of the best school comedies ever made? We think so! Dewey Finn, an amateur rock enthusiast, slyly takes up his friend’s job by posing as a substitute teacher. Bearing no qualifications for it, he instead starts training the students to form a band.
