Today’s question is from a reader who wants to try period underwear.
I recently got my period and wanted to try period knickers but I don’t know if they are hygienic because you wear them all day? Or do you? I’m not sure how long you should wear one pair either. Any advice?
“Period underwear, when used correctly, is very hygienic!
“As long as you follow the guidance given with the underwear, you’ll stay dry and clean throughout your period. Some underwear needs to be rinsed first, or washed cold, or washed separately. Some will last for a few hours, and others all night.
Again, check the instructions given when you buy! Period underwear can seem like a big spend up front, but they ultimately will save you money not buying tampons or pads each month. They are also much better for the environment, win win. Happy menstruating!”
