Beauty Spill: Gracey O’Connell’s Makeup Faves

Peek inside the makeup bag of our fave glowy gal

Welcome to Beauty Spill where we have a nosey through the makeup bags of some of our favourite people in the industry…

This week, we’re kicking it off with Gracey O’Connell. Makeup artist Gracey has amassed thousands of followers online with her glowy gorgeous makeup looks, honest product reviews and helpful tutorials.

Let’s take a look at what’s in her beauty bag right now!

Listen, it takes a lot of products to look this ‘natural’! I’ve gotten pretty good at condensing my personal makeup bag over the years – I generally wear less makeup nowadays (certainly on a day-to-day basis) and depending on what time I have, I can do a look with 3, 10 or 20 products.

Some products are truly non-negotiables, but here are my makeup bag essentials. My go-to is a soft glam, skin focus. Everything in my makeup bag is super easy to use and multipurpose – yanno, for when you have a business meeting at 2 and a hot date with Tom Hardy at 7.

Skingredients Skin Shield SPF50

Non-negotiable for obvious reasons. Yes, even in the winter. This has a peachy tint and dewy finish without being greasy. Use it as your daily primer/tint step and your skin will certainly thank you for it in years to come.

Sculpted by Aimee Connolly Tint and Glow

A sheer skin tint that gives light coverage and radiance. Evens the skin tone and can be applied with clean hands. I haven’t worn much else on my skin since discovering it and it was my top 2021 beauty launch.

Sculpted by Aimee Connolly Brighten Up

My favourite undereye concealer and makes you look like you’ve had 8 hours sleep even if you haven’t. New mams, frontline workers, all-nighter pulling college students; you all need this. My own mam is a fan too, I think it is a flattering lightweight formula on pretty much everyone.

Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Setting Powder

A tiny compact of utter magic. Blurs and smooths the skin, sets the makeup and is a must for someone like myself who is an oily skinned gal that loves a glow! I set my t-zone with this and glow everywhere else.

Refy Brow Sculpt

A strong-hold colourless brow gel with a handy comb applicator inside the cap. Easy to use and gives a fluffy laminated look to the brows. In my top 3 ‘I need my face on FAST’ products.

Sculpted by Aimee Connolly Full Face Edit

Are you sensing a theme here? Her products are genius. This has everything you need for colouracross eyes, lips and cheeks. Love the cream tint too for added freshness to the skin. Compact size and a great mirror, too. A true makeup bag essential, mine is very well loved.

Kash Beauty Angel Energy Cream Highlighter

Give me glossy glass skin all day every day. This product catches the light beautifully and melts seamlessly into the skin when tapped on with fingers. I opt for cream highlighters over powder any day. Keilidh Cashell nailed this formula and it has more recently taken place in my everyday makeup bag. I’ll gladly have it there, though, thank you very much!

MAC Costa Riche Eyeliner

Creamy formula and so easy to smudge across the eye. Throw some bronzer in the crease and blend this out into a smokey eye in seconds. This has been a makeup bag staple of mine for nearly 10 years.

Essence Double Trouble Mascara

It’s excellent. And it’s cheap. Buy it!

Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lipliner

A pretty universally flattering classic. 99% of my clients wear this on their wedding day or special occasion, and with good reason. If it ain’t broke!

Maybelline Lifter Gloss

If you are ballin’ on a budget then these glosses are fantastic quality and come in some great neutral shades. Just like Lil’ Mama in 2007, my lip gloss is also poppin’.
