Here’s The Great Advice That Laura Whitmore Has For This Year’s Love Island Contestants

The Love Island presenter shared her words of wisdom for 2021's contestants.

Laura Whitmore has shared some advice to contestants before they head into the villa for this year’s series of Love Island.

The show is well known for catapulting many of its contestants to fame during the series, but this can also have a downside as it exposes them to more public scrutiny.

Speaking about the upcoming season, Laura had some words of wisdom, specifically urging them to “be yourself.”

Continuing the Bray native said; “Eight weeks is a long time, if you try and play a game or try to be something you’re not, you’re going to get found out quite quickly.

“From watching the show, I would just say be yourself if you want to be in there for the long run.

“You want characters, big personalities in there. Someone who goes for it. I haven’t met any of the islanders yet but I’ve heard from the people behind the scenes that they are an incredible cast – it’s really exciting.”

It’s the villa, in particular, the mother-of-one is most excited to see. This is Laura’s second time hosting the show, as she stepped in to host the first-ever winter series in 2020, which was filmed in South Africa.

Now, the show is headed back to the spot we all know best, Mallorca; “I’m really excited about seeing the villa,” Laura said.

“I’ve never seen the villa in Mallorca so I’ll probably be there a little bit fangirling at the villa. It’s almost like a person to me. So I need to remember that I’m there doing a job, not just a fangirl.”

Chatting about how excited she is at the show’s return she said; “It’s been a year where I think we all need a bit more love and fun in our lives and I think everyone is ready for Love Island to be back – myself included.”

Virgin Media One has revealed that Irish viewers can watch the show when it airs on Monday 28th of June at its usual time of 9pm. Only six days to go!
