Welcome to the Team KISS list. We know that after weeks and weeks of lockdown, we’re finally getting back to some form of normality. But while it’s going to be a different kind of normal, we’re all still a bit apprehensive, kind of bored and a bit frustrated still, understandably.
So, team KISS is sharing some of our favourite things we’ve done/watched/used in the last week to give you some inspo and help you to get to know us better.

Jewellery! I’ve had my eye on quite an expensive star necklace for ages now but wasn’t sure about splashing out. Then I saw that Betty & Biddy had a bargain alternative in exactly the style I wanted. I think I’ll wear this with everything.

Homeware. I’m moving into a new home next week and my bedroom is far bigger than my old one so I’m excited to decorate. I’ve had my eye on loads of homeware bits from Urban Outfitters, ASOS and whenever I get the chance I’ll be heading to Penneys too. This peachy bed cover is top of my list.

The other morning, I decided to get up and stroll into Penneys. I managed to get there just as it was opening, so the handful of us that were there could walk in without queuing for long, we got hand sanitiser at the door and there’s enough space so everyone can stay distant from each other. Plus, they have a clicking counter at the door, so once someone leaves the exit someone else can go in, so there are no massive crowds. It’s not normal, but it’s the new normal that we’ll probably have to get used to. It was great to just have a stroll around and pick up some bits. Of course, I got some new pjs (they’re Pinnochio ones, in case you’re wondering) eyelashes, eyelash glue, a few bits here and there and it was just fab.
Packing! Now that we’re allowed travel between counties, this week, I’m going ‘home-home’ for the first time since Christmas. I get to see and spend time with my mam, dad and my dog, so I’m packing my bags to go home for a few days. I’m not a light packer at all, and I’m always fearful that I’ll forget something so more time goes into it than I’d like to admit. I’m usually a pretty organised person and I love making lists (I know, I know) so I have a pretty specific list of what of bringing home, from every product in my skincare routine to fluffy socks and everything in between.
Getting my nails done. Anyone that knows me, or even follows me on Instagram, will know that I LOVE getting my nails done. Every month, pre-coronavirus, I treated myself to a shellac manicure. I like to keep my own nails long, and I try to take care of them the best I can (you can read more on that here) and I think having that extra layer of shellac really helps. My own nails at the minute aren’t as long as usual, so I’m not sure what kind of look to go for. But I’ve managed to get a shellac appointment this week, and like most gals who love getting their nails done, I’m SO excited for it. Now all I have to do is decide what to get. Decisions!

With make-up! Which is kind of unusual for me. I might have mentioned it before but I’m not a huge make-up kind of gal, I enjoy it on others but never seem to get it right on myself. But, I decided to treat myself to a few bits from Glossier and a new BPerfect Carnival palette and I think I’ve finally found my make-up niche! I love anything with bright colours so painting my eyes with blues, pinks, and yellows makes me feel so happy and actually enjoy the process of putting on make-up! I’m not sure I’ll ever master the Kim K contour and perfect winged liner but I’m still pretty happy with my little progress nonetheless.
We had a few days of nice weather last week so I decided to travel to some of the places that I haven’t been able to visit during lockdown. I live on the northside of Dublin so visit Howth quite a lot. Obviously, in the middle of lockdown I didn’t travel any further than my own area, but now that we’re in phase 3 of social distancing I can visit places outside of my 2km radius. So, last weekend I finally got to spend some time in Howth again, I brought my dog out and we got a Starbucks and walked along the pier in the sunshine (you can ask for a puppuccino in Starbucks FYI). Before heading home I grabbed some chips from my favourite takeaway in Howth, so overall a great day was had!
Clear-outs! I know, I know, I’ve had months to do this, but this week I decided that it was time I had a little clear-out in my bedroom. That included clothes, books, and other random bits that had been gathering in my room over the last while. I know that charity shops are beginning to reopen now and accept donations from customers so now have 2 black bin bags ready to go to my local charity shop now, and a tidy room!
