How To Create An Everyday Makeup Look On A Budget

With all of our favourite products under €15

We all love to look glam, especially after a year of no makeup and loungewear! But most of the time we’d like to do so without breaking the bank. Follow this guide and you’ll achieve an impressive makeup look for under €50!

1. Moisturiser

Moisturiser is a really important step in your makeup routine. Not only will it keep your skin feeling soft and refreshed, it also gives your makeup a nice base to build upon. Try out the Nivea Face Cream Light Moisturiser SPF 15. This product retails for €6.49 and there’s different options depending on your skin type. It’s a great deal considering you are getting a moisturiser and an SPF all in one. You should wear SPF every day (yes even in the winter) to protect your skin from sun damage. You’ll thank yourself in about 40 years’ time!

2. Foundation

We always hear about the gorgeous (but expensive) foundations. But for your everyday makeup routine, there’s no need to use your €50 foundation if you don’t want to. Instead, why not try a so-called dupe for the Este Lauder Double Wear Foundation. If you like a foundation that’s long-lasting with great coverage the Penneys’ Double Coverage Matte Foundation could be the one for you. And the best part is it costs just €6.

3. Concealer

Concealer is such a great product for hiding any dark circles and blemishes you may have on your face. This LA Girl Pro Conceal HD Concealer is is brilliant and it won’t break the bank. It also comes in a squeezy tube instead of with a wand. This way it’s easier to apply the product the way you want either with your fingers, a beauty blender, or a brush. The concealer retails for €4.76 so it’s a steal!

4. Powder

After using all that foundation and concealer you will need a powder to set all your hard work in place. The Carter Beauty Setting Standards Baking Powder could become your new best friend. It has a similar consistency to the Laura Mercier Translucent Powder and the Kevin Aucoin Loose Powder but for a fraction of the price. This product retails at just €4.95 and comes in three different shades, translucent, natural and banana so there’s something to suit everyone.

5. Brows

Gone are the days of spending most of your makeup routine carving our perfectly arched brows. Fluffy and natural brows are the way forward so why not try out the Catrice Brow Colourist Semi Permanent Brow Mascara. It costs just €1.72 right now. This product will slightly tint and give your eyebrows a naturally fuller look. Catrice is also stocked in Penneys so you could pick it up next time you’re in store. For just under €2, we think this is a bargin!

6. A palette that has it all!

Have you ever bought an expensive palette only to end up using one or two colours? This has happened to all of us at one point. When searching for an everyday palette it can be a good idea to try and buy one that has more than one use. For example, a palette that you can use on your eyes but that could also work as an eyebrow powder or as a bronzer and blusher. There’s lots of great palettes out there. You could try out the Carter Beauty Cherry Bomb Face and Eye Palette. It has everything you need to complete your everyday makeup look and costs just €14.95.

7. Mascara

A makeup look isn’t complete without some great mascara. Why not try the Collection Lash Surge Mascara. It’s a hidden gem in the drug store makeup department. If you follow makeup artist Laura Broderick on Instagram, you will hear her raving about this mascara all the time. It instantly gives your eyelashes the lift they need without leaving any clunky black product behind. This product retails for just €6.59 and certainly gives more high end mascara products like Benefit a run for their money.

8. Lips

For an everyday look there’s really no need to go all in with the lip liner and lipstick if you don’t want to. Something as simple as a lip balm can complete a makeup look while also keeping your lips chap free and healthy. You could use the Nivea Lip Balm that costs just €2.15. If you’d prefer to add a little bit of colour to your lips you could try the Vaseline Rosy Tinted Lip Balm.

Total cost: €47.61

From your foundation to your lips there’s a way you can get an entire makeup bag full of products for under €50. So why not try out some of these beauty favourites. You never know they might just become part of your everyday routine.
