James Charles Says Charli Comes To Him For Advice On Coping With Trolls

"She’ll call me so upset, or crying over comments or things that have happened...”

James Charles has dealt with his fair share of trolling over the past few years as his Youtube following grew and grew.

Though he is no stranger to scandal, no one should have to go through unnecessary harsh criticism from strangers on the internet.

Another internet sensation who is constantly facing backlash is Charli D’Amelio.

The TikTok star has had comments about everything from her weight, to her personality, and her dance ability.

James Charles has now revealed that Charli turns to him when she’s struggling with negative comments.

In an interview with YouTubers Zane and Heath, James explained that the two are very close.

“Charli and I talk almost every single day, she’s an amazing friend on a personal level,” he revealed.

“But on a career level, I’ve been really trying hard to be there for her, help her wherever I can, give her advice, just really be there. She’s one of those people that I want to make sure she’s okay and taken care of and not going to go crazy because of the amount of pressure she’s under is insane.”

“There’s been so many times where she’ll call me so upset, or crying over comments or things that have happened, like, ‘What do I do?’” he added, revealing his pretty harsh advice!

“And I’ll be like, ‘Charli, suck it up,'” he said, adding. “You can’t care, you have to get over it. You’re literally the most famous person on the planet, you cannot let one person get to your head.”

While his advice might be a little harsh, he may have a point. It’s important not to let people on the internet make you feel bad about yourself, anyone calling her out clearly has their own issues that they are taking out on a stranger. No one is ever going to be liked by everyone and that’s something we all need to accept.

However, trolling and harsh comments really can have a negative effect on your self-esteem no matter how hard to try to ignore it. If it’s happening to you, it’s important to speak to someone you can trust about it!
