Welcome to the Team KISS list. After weeks and weeks of uncertainty, we’re delighted that we’re finally getting back to some form of normality. Even though schools are open again, it’s going to be a different kind of normal, we’re all still a bit apprehensive, kind of bored and a bit frustrated still, understandably.
So, team KISS is sharing some of our favourite things we’ve done/watched/used in the last week to give you some inspo’ and help you to get to know us better.

If you’re a doughnut fan, you’ll probably know that Krispy Kreme is top-tier! I recently got to try their new ones, which included a Reese’s Choco Ring and OMG, they are divine. Their store is in Blanchardstown in Dublin, so if you live nearby, I’d highly recommend them!
Using: Fun eye shadow colours
I’ve had the BPerfect x Jah Makeup Artist Clientele Palette for ages now and I’ve started to hit pan on a lot of the more neutral, orange and browns, so I decided to make a conscious effort to try some of the more fun colours. There’s a gorge purple colour called Minx and pinks like Darling and Pink Rose. I think sometimes you have to push yourself to try your lesser-used shades and beauty products, because you might just fall in love with them.
Watching: Love Guaranteed
If you’re in the mood for a fun rom-com, Love Guaranteed just landed on Netflix. It’s a very funny, very sweet film about a man who sues a dating app after he fails to find love. His lawyer is the kind-hearted, hard-working Susan who decides to take on the case as she’s in need of the money. Coach from New Girl plays the leading man Nick, so if you’re a fan of the show you’ll love this film. Watch it with your family, friends or other-half or just about anyone.

Using: The Inglot x Maura Beautiful Storm palette
A few years ago, I had an obsession with Inglot eyeshadows. All of a sudden, my obsession melted away, so I haven’t treated myself to anything in Inglot in quite a while. But then I got my hands on one of the palettes from the Inglot x Maura collection and I’m obsessed all over again. The Beautiful Storm palette is made up with warm, berry-toned shades, mostly matte with some gorgeous shimmers thrown in too. They’re super pigmented, blend so easily and just look amazing. Ideal for a little something during the day, and building up to a more dramatic look. Keep an eye out on our Instagram for a tutorial soon.
Excited For: Winter Nails
I usually get my nails done once a month, but now that it’s autumn, I’m SO excited for darker shades and glitter. I love getting shellac done, and I love the cosiness and colours of autumn/winter. So putting the two together, I’m awful excited. I’m already planning my birthday and Christmas nails.
Watching: We’re Here
I’m getting big Queer Eye meets Drag Race vibes from this, and one episode in, it’s the cross over that I never knew I needed. Basically, Shangela, Bob the Drag Queen and Eureka O’Hara have teamed up together to travel around America and have unlikely participants take part in a one-night-only drag show. They all have different reasons for taking part, so it makes some fantastic tv. But expect some happy tears along the way!

As we all know, 2020 has swiftly become the year of the staycation. While it kills me to see pictures of celebs and influencers enjoying their trips to sunny Ibiza and Mykonos as I miss out on a sun holiday this year, I know that flying abroad for a holiday is just not worth putting myself and those around me at risk of becoming sick. So, instead, I’ve been enjoying all of the beauty our gorgeous little country has to offer. What we lack in sun we make up for in greenery, and this weekend myself and my boyfriend rented out a cabin in a small forested area in Slane, County Meath for the night. It was pet friendly so my little dog Ringo could come along for the adventure too, the cabin is located among 5 other log cabins and yurts in the area, with scenery that would give Taylor Swift’s Folklore a run for its money. The cabin we chose is fully self-catering so we made ourselves some pizza’s, popped on a fire, and got cosy in our tiny home for the night – it was bliss!
If you’re interested in giving glamping a go, you can check out the area we stayed in here.
Listening To: The High Low Podcast
There’s nothing I love more than listening to intelligent women converse, and The High Low Podcast is just that. Hosted by UK journalists Dolly Alderton and Pandora Sykes, I’d highly recommend this pod for any pop-culture enthusiast. Dolly and Pandora chat about everything from mad news stories, to literature and TV, it’s a dose of happiness for me and a perfect way to unwind after a long day. Since March, I’ve really got into listening to podcasts (maybe it was the lack of human interaction, who knows!) and I always pop one on when I’m doing things like showering, cooking, or cleaning my room. I find that you learn so much from listening in to one, without actually feeling like you’re learning, which is ideal really.
Reading: STELLAR Magazine
It’s a shameless plug for our big sister, who the KISS Team also writes for, but I absolutely adore STELLAR magazine and feel so proud to be writing for it each month alongside other crazy talented gals! I’ve always been interested in buying magazines, from collectables when I was a child, to KISS when I was a teenager. Seeing Lauren Conrad intern at Teen Vogue on The Hills made me want to be exactly like her, and I think teenage Adele would be pretty pleased with adult Adele for now working for two of her favourite magazines. This month’s STELLAR is my favourite issue this year. It’s the sustainable issue, and our fashion editor, Megan, did an amazing job sourcing all sustainable products to show while styling the gorge cover girl Tara Stewart in head-to-toe thrift too! Fashion aside, there are so many great features on topics like skincare and dating. It’s still on shelves for another couple of days, so I would recommend grabbing one while you can!
