Lili Reinhart has got to be one of our absolute faves right now. As well as being an amazing actress, she seems like great craic and she’s super open about body image and mental health issues. And given that she’s one of the Riverdale stars, she deals with issues such as body image on a pretty big level.

According to Seventeen, in now deleted Tweets, Lili had a conversation with a follower about body image on Riverdale. The follower asked, “@lilireinhart just curious. Why is every single person on riverdale a 25+ year old portraying teenager with perfectly chiseled bodies,” the tweet asked. “Don’t you think TV shows like this aimed at teenagers are contributing to unrealistic body expectations body image issues?”

Lili decided to Tweet back, letting them know that they pretty much have the wrong idea. “Actually, not everyone on this show is perfectly chiseled. And even I feel intimidated by the physique of my surrounding cast mates sometimes when I have to do bra/underwear scenes,” the tweet says. “I’ve felt very insecure due to the expectation that people have for women on tv, what they should look like.”

Talking about the underwear scenes, Lili said she had to “be strong and show confidence” for Riverdale fans. In another Tweet she said “This industry struggles with accurate representation of female and male bodies,” Lili then continued “So I commend the women who have helped our industry take a step in the right ~and authentic~ direction.”
