Miriam Mullins Shares Scary Moment Her Privacy Was Invaded At Home

"If you're old enough to drive a car you're old enough to know the boundaries and respect of someone's privacy in their home."

TikTok star Miriam Mullins has shared a scary moment with her followers regarding how her privacy was invaded this week.

Speaking on Instagram, Miriam began: “Hi guys, I’m a bit nervous coming on to talk about this, I’ve been hmming and hawing this the last two days but I just said I’d do it today and get it over with. I haven’t been on the last few days and you’ve been asking me how the running is going and I was meant to share a running playlist and the day in the life.

“But I just haven’t been coming on but I really needed to take a break the last few days because of something that happened on Monday to do with my home and invasion of my privacy.”

Continuing, Miriam shared why she feels it’s important to talk about: “I’m a bit nervous to talk about it but I just feel like if I get it out there people might realise how their actions can affect people and I don’t think people even realise sometimes what they do can be an invasion and how it can affect a person.

“On Monday I was here at home sitting at the window, playing with Lucy and on my phone just chilling and I sometimes look out the window because there’s always people that walk by, as you do.

“I noticed this one car kept driving past my house and driving really slow and looking in and whatever and I was like okay that’s a bit strange but I just ignored it and then the car came back and pulled in right outside my house, I was just looking and I saw these two girls in the car, one in the front and one in the back.

“They whipped out their phone and started recording me in my house, recording my home, taking pictures of my house.”

Miriam shared how the incident had scared her so much, explaining: “Honestly, I burst into tears, I got so scared because I was like oh my god this person has a visual of my home what the hell are they going to do with it, are they going to put it in a group chat, it only takes one shit person to see it and you know, put it in a group chat with 20 people, those 20 people could burst that out to another 20 people each and my mind was just doing 90.

“Tiaan was here thank god and he went to the window and he just looked and was like oh Miriam they’re actually recording the house they’re taking pictures or whatever.

“So my intuition straight away got to me, I went straight to the window, I didn’t even care, and straight away started recording them back.

“Now thank god just that got their number plate in the video so I was like boom number plate yes, and I’m at the point now where I don’t care anymore, anything to protect my safety, Tiaan’s safety, my home, I will do whatever it takes so I was very happy I got the number plate and I went to the guards about it because I didn’t know what to do, I was scared.”

The TikTok star added: “the thing is I have no control over what other people, like this person was obviously recording me in my house so they have the evidence, like yes that’s Miriam Mullin’s house – she’s in the home, they know where I live they know my area.”

Speaking about how although she has gained popularity across social media, that that’s no reason to have your privacy invaded, Miriam continued, “I’m not even joking every person around, my neighbours and everything, they’re so respectful and I guess I do, I suppose put myself out there but I want other aspects of my life to be private and to feel safe in my home.

“It’s my house and my home is actually the only place where I can really be myself and feel comfortable snd do what I want.

“Unfortunately, by this one person, it’s been totally invaded. I had to get CCTV yesterday and it’s been installed in the house just because I don’t feel comfortable anymore because there was a stranger outside my house on Monday recording me.

“The last two days, to be honest, I’ve been petrified, I’ve been thinking all the worst things but I feel a lot better now that we have the cameras in the house.

“This is just mad I can not believe it like I am the most normal person you’ll ever meet what benefit does t have, to that person that did that or those two people if you’re watching I genuinely don’t understand what benefit that is to you, having a video or a picture of my house.”

Miriam continued: “Like I’m not Kim Kardashian you can’t sell that photo to a newspaper and make money out of it love, I just can’t understand it.

“If you’re old enough to drive a car you’re old enough to know the boundaries and respect of someone’s privacy in their home. I just don’t understand.

“I’m going off on a rant now and I don’t want to be negative but it’s just been a tough two days and obviously, I want to let you know that having respect for people’s privacy is important. If you ever saw someone recording you in your home, it doesn’t matter if you have a following on social media that’s out the window, you would be scared you’d be like why is there someone recording me in my house.”

Sending love Miriam’s way!
