Niall Horan Shares The Special Meaning Behind His Song ‘Dear Patience’

Watch his performance here.

One of the songs on Niall Horan’s new album Heartbreak Weather is proving to be pretty fitting in the midst of the Coronavirus quarantine.

The Mullingar man joined Jimmy Fallon via video for an at-home version of The Tonight Show. During the chat he talked about the tricky business of bringing out an album in the middle on the health crisis.

However, when asked to perform on the show, Niall picked ‘Dear Patience’ as the track feels “very relevant” right now.

“I just thought it’s very relevant right now because I wrote it at a time when I needed to be patient,” he said.

“And if anyone needs to patient right now, it’s all of us. This song is basically me writing a letter to the feeling of patience, you know, ‘C’mon, dude. Let’s go for a drink. We haven’t spoke in a while.’ So, I feel like we can all… it’s very relevant right now. So, we can all pay attention to that.”

The lyrics are definitely something we should tune into when we’re feeling frustrated.

“Dear patience/ If I pour my heart out, can you keep a promise? / ‘Cause the situation / Is like a mountain that’s been weighing on my conscious / If I’m being honest.”

We can always count on Niall to make us feel a little better when times are tough!
