We chat to some of our favourite well-known people about what they’d say to their teenage-self. They reveal what their teens were like and the advice they’d give for the future.
This week, we hear from radio presenter Laura Bracken. She hosts Spin Hits and is one half of the Zoo Crew with Jaz Keane.
It’s future you in the year 2019. You are still standing at 5ft 2. You’re insecure about not being so tall now, but you’ll learn to love that about yourself, I promise.
Your eyebrows have gotten better (phew) and yes they did grow back after you shaved them a couple of times to ‘shape’ them and just made them thin. (Yes, really.)
You may not appreciate them now, but your school days are some of your funniest. Enjoy this carefree time for all it is. There’s plenty of time for the serious stuff later.
It’s true what they say, some of the best days of your life haven’t happened yet and some fantastic days await you. Trust me.
The best friends you have now are the best friends you have when you’re older. They’re special. But just wait… There are so many more fantastic friends you’ve yet to meet that will change your life for the better.
That dream career you have, stay focused on it. You’re gonna make a career out of that voice you use for school musicals. No, you won’t be the next Beyoncé (at least not by 26) but you’ll land a dream radio presenting gig and it’s just the beginning.
Remember to always be kind, help others and stay true to you. There’s only one you.
