We’ve seen JoJo Siwa without her signature bow and ponytail on a couple of occasions, but now it seems she may be ditching her signature style altogether. As JoJo has just turned 18, she explained that she’s ready for something different, but that it might be difficult because she’s “worn a bow for obviously the last 18 years of life.”
“I just had my 18th birthday and it was right around my birthday that I realized, ‘I kinda wanna do my hair different today,'” she explained, according to People, adding that she “came out to the world and to my family and essentially to myself.”
She then added that “It just felt like the right time and to do something different and to do something maybe a little bit more mature or a little upgrade.”

JoJo said her mam Jessalynn asked if it was “harder to come out to me or tell me that you wanna wear your hair different?” and in response, JoJo shared that “It surprisingly was harder to tell you that I wanted to wear my hair different.”
Although, she’s not hanging up her bows for good. Speaking to Instagram head Adam Mosseri, she shared “The bow is still a part of my life. I still love bows, I forever will. They’re who I am, but maybe I won’t wear it every day.”
So we could still see JoJo with the bow every now and again, but we’re loving her new style too.
