Book your tickets now!

Summer is finally here and it brings plenty of exciting things with it’s arrival. A well needed break from school, late morning lie-ins, and hopefully some sunshine.

But what were really buzzing for, are the amazing films being released during the next few months.

This summer is set to have some stellar films from hotly anticipated book adaptions, to star studded comedies, and of course some much needed summer lovefests.

To make planning your film nights and cinema trips a bit easier, we’ve picked out just a few of the films we’re desperately awaiting right now.

Bodies Bodies Bodies – the 5th of August

Created by A24, Bodies Bodies Bodies, is the horror comedy we didn’t know we needed.

It looks absolutely hilarious and answers the question “how would gen z really act in a horror movie.” It follows a group of friends who play a murder in the dark style game called Bodies Bodies Bodies, only for a real murder to take place, leading to them trying to find the real murderer in the group.

Even people who aren’t big fans of horror will be excited by this one as it stars The Hunger Games’ Amandla Stenberg, Borat Subsequent Moviefilm’s Maria Bakalova and Pete Davidson.

One of the most highly anticipated book adaptations of the summer, Hello, Goodbye, and Everything in Between is based on the Jennifer E. Smith novel of the same name.

It follows high school sweethearts Aidan and Clare as they prepare to leave their home town for university. With them both attending different schools, the pair must decide if their relationship can survive after they graduate.

Starring Jordan Fisher and Talia Ryder, this one sounds like it’s gonna hit us with the feels, like A Walk To Remember level of feels. So prepare your tissues for 6th of July as it arrives on Netflix.

Lightyear – 17th of June

You’re never to old for Toy Story, and the original series is always good for a re-watch. So it’s exciting that we’re getting a new installment in the series.

Lightyear will be pretty different from anything we’ve seen before as it follows Buzz Lightyear…but not the toy. It will focus on the man who inspired the action figure. Detailing the astronaut’s epic adventure as he is stranded on a hostile planet.

It will star Chris Evans, Keke Palmer, Peter Sohn, Taika Waititi, and Uzo Aduba, need we say more?

Persuasion – 15th of July

Let’s face it there is nothing more exciting than a Jane Austen adaptation and Netflix’s remake of her last novel Persuasion is set to be one of the best.

It will follow the traditional story of Anne Elliot as she moves in with relatives and pines for her lost love. The latest version will star Dakota Johnson, Cosmo Jarvis, Henry Golding, Nikki Amuka-Bird, Mia McKenna-Bruce and Richard E. Grant.

We’re in desperate need of a good period drama since we devoured Bridgerton when it’s second season dropped, so their timing is perfect.

After Ever Happy – 24th of August

The final film in the After series, After Ever Happy, marks the end of an era.

Continuing on Hardin and Tessa’s tumultuous love story, the film will see Josephine Langford and Hero Fiennes Tiffin reprise their roles for the last time.

Love the films, or hate them, let’s face it we’ll all be watching.
