Time For Some Self Care? Here’s 5 Steps To An At Home Spa Day

Just because we deserve it.

None of us will be making a trip to a salon any time soon, whether it’s to get our nails done or a little trim. But we can still take some spa-like treatments and enjoy them at home, here’s exactly how. Don’t forget to set the scene too, with a few candles and your favourite playlist. Things are about to get real chill.

Time for a Deep Conditioning

Have one or two hair masks that you keep meaning to try? Well, now’s the time! Or if you don’t have one to hand, try adding some coconut oil to your hair and leave it to work its magic for 30 minutes, then simply wash it out as normal. You’ll be left with silky smooth hair, with a whole lotta shine. Be careful to avoid your roots though, that’ll just make it a lot harder to wash out.

DIY Mani/Pedi

There’s nothing like having your nails done, even if it’s just a simple nude shade. Start by taking off any chipped nail polish, then soak your nails in some warm water and follow up with a fab hand cream. Next, you can gently push down your cuticles and file your nails into the shape you’re after. Be careful not to file your nails in a see-saw motion though! It’s all about filing ’em in one direction only. Then pop on your base coat, your choice of colour and a top coat too, while you’re at it. Scrub, Scrub, Scrub

Giving your body a good exfoliation every once in a while (or maybe even once a week) is a pretty good habit to get into. But you can give body scrubs a DIY twist too, simply take one cup of brown sugar, one cup of raw oats and one cup of olive oil. Mix ’em all together and then using your hands, rub onto dry skin in circular motions. After you shower it off, your skin will be silky smooth.

It’s times like this when we wish we had a never-ending supply of sheet masks, but unforch we don’t, so it’s time to get raiding the kitchen presses! Whether you have dry, oily, or combination skin, there is a DIY face mask out there for you. The Finishing Touch

To top it all off, light a few candles and take some time to chill. Whether that’s on your cosy bed, in the bath or even in your favourite spot on the couch. Put on your all-time fave PJs, some feel-good tv and enjoy!
