Watch: How To Create A Subtle Yet Shimmery Spotlight Eye

Plus, a review of the Maura x Inglot Beautiful Storm palette.

Who doesn’t love a spotlight eye? They’re the perfect go-to for a celebration, an occasion, a Saturday night – whatever it might be. But they’re SO simple to do too. You don’t need to go over the top with them, unless you want to, obviously. But they’re simple enough that you can a subtle little spotlight eye if you fancy something a little extra on a normal day.

When Inglot announced a collab with Maura Higgins, it was all very exciting. And let me tell you, the palettes are just amazing. I got my hands on the Beautiful Storm palette, which is packed with gorgeous pink to burgundy shades, with three stunning shimmers included.

Each shade is perfectly pigmented, blends super easily and all the shades work perfectly together. First, I went in with the shade Queen, which is like a dark pink shade, all along my crease and under eye area. I then blended that out with a lighter pink shade, Saucy, around the edges of the previous shade.

Then, I gently tapped on Stargazer on the inner two thirds of the lid. You can build this up as much as you want, depending how much of a pop you want. Finally, with a small flat brush, I added a small amount of Graphite along the lash line for a little bit of drama. It’s the blackest of black shades, ideal.

Finally, pop on some lipstick and your go-to lashes or mascara, and you’re good to go! If you fancy treating yourself to the Beautiful Storm palette, you can check it out here. Check out our full tutorial below, and let us know in the comments on Instagram what you’d like to see next.
